Bot templates

When you create a new bot on the Chatlayer platform, you have two options to get started:

  1. Build a bot from scratch

  2. Load a bot template and customise it for your business

If you build a bot from scratch, this page can help you get started.

Starting from a template is an easy way to get your bot up and running in very little time. Templates are fully functional bots for a specific use case or set of use cases that you can customise to fit your own business' brand and needs.

Using a template

Templates are bots or flows that were built by our team. Some templates are fully fleshed out bots consisting of multiple flows. These templates can handle the most common use cases for a specific industry, like the banking template. They're a great way to get started on your own bot, or to learn more about how certain things can be built on our platform!

Other templates consist of a single flow that only deals with a single use case or they can consist of a single flow. These can help you quickly add a specific use case or functionality to an existing bot.

To create a new bot from a template, simply go to the My bots section in Chatlayer and select a template under the Build a new bot section and then click Create.

Once the template has been loaded make sure to update the NLP by clicking the button in the top right corner.

Most templates will work right out of the box after you load them, though in some cases you will need to make some small modifications to make it work, for example when an integration is used. You can find full guidelines on how to set up and customise each template in the following pages.

Bot style

Always keep in mind that your chatbot should reflect your business’ specific image and brand. The default dialog texts in our templates are designed to be general and neutral. This means they might not be suitable for your bot because they sound either too formal or casual, or are simply not specific enough. We strongly suggest you customise the dialog texts as much as possible, so your bot’s personality matches the tone your users expect from your business

With this template flow, users can easily find your organisation’s nearest branch using your chatbot. After asking the user for their address, the bot will look through all your branch locations and then calculate which one is closest to the user’s address. The bot will give the address and show the location on Google Maps.

This bot template is using the state-of-the-art GPT-3 technology to generate responses on retail use-cases, to make jokes or just to improvise on anything. Play with it and make it your own!

This booking assistant helps your customers to schedule their gym sessions. It offers a free trial to new joiners, books and reschedule trainings and classes, and answers some practical questions about prices, rules, and opening hours. A valuable tool to make your customers freer!

Customers turn to their insurance provider for round the clock assistance – expecting the same from its customer service. With this chatbot, you can file a claim at any time!

With this template job candidates can easily look up and apply for job openings at your company. Candidates can either browse through the open positions or directly ask about an opening for specific role.

This is a short template for lead generation: your customers get a free trial if they give in their details. A flow easy to adapt to any chatbot! Please update the NLP before using.
